The image of an antique steamer trunk covered in hotel labels has always been the ultimate symbol of travel for me. I think of the Golden Age of travel, when different modes of transportation made the unreachable finally reachable. During this time hotel labels were in high fashion and served as a memento of one’s past journeys.
Luggage labels captured the spirit of adventure, long before travel blogs and flickr albums. There were men and women who had the foresight to know that these labels would eventually tell a grand story. One of the most enthusiastic o fwanderers of his time was the grandson of Louis Vuitton, Gaston-Louis. Over the course of his international travels he collected 3,000 unique hotel labels from all corners of the world.
As a tribute to traveling and the artof collecting beautiful things, the Louis Vuitton brand published reproductions of 30 different hotel labels from Gaston-Louis’s private collection. These labels are packaged as the beautiful and timeless Louis Vuitton Hotel Label Postcards Box and this is my gift to one lucky winner!

Hmmm, let's see, my favorite hotel so far is the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge in Tanzania. Breathtaking doesn't even begin to describe it!
Nice blog and cool contest! As a stationary lover and collector I couldn't resist:) I am a boutique hotel kind of girl. My favorite for a weekend getaway without leaving NYC, is the Ravel. Gorgeous views, sexy decor and good rooftop restaurant. I am also plotting to get to the Diva hotel in San Fran this year.
My favourite hotel ever is Hotel Ibis in Athens. Now, this is NOT because it's nice (it's actually quite bad..) but because that was my first major trip away. I went with my school through EF Tours and they put us in a pretty dumpy hotel, but we had a lot of good times and good memories in that place.
Thank you for doing this contest (fun!!) and congrats on making it to 500 likes. I think I'll have to go with a classic and say my dream hotel stay would be at the Plaza Athenee in Paris. In a suite of course!
I love the Peabody Hotel in Orlando. I never want to get out bed when I stay there.

I've been able to crash on couches and stay on the cheap so far- but the one treat I got was to stay at the Wynn Encore in Las Vegas and that was a dreeeeeeam.
Dream hotel? Hmm… Has to be in a warm climate, with lots of light and a great view, a bed I could sleep in for days, somewhere near water and with fresh food via room service. Also needs good, fast wifi, a library, and my husband standing by ready to give me a massage. Does that exist anywhere? Let me know so I can pack.
My favorite hotel so far has been the Ritz Carlton in Atlanta. The service was impeccable, the bed was comfortable, the rooms are a nice size, and I just really enjoyed myself while I stayed there.

My dream hotel at the moment is…Oberoi Udaivilas Udaipur, India. I'm a luxury kinda girl and when I think of vacations I don't mean roughing it. That happens enough day to day lol. This would be perfect, a girl can dream!

I would love to go to a hotel in vegas like the palms or the bellagio. I bet there is always something going on at all hours of the night and lots of shows and casinos!

Call me corny, but I've always wanted to stay at the Waldorf Astoria, like in Coming to America! Rose petals at my feet would be a nice touch too!
My favorite hotel was Espace Sobobade in Senegal (in Toubab Dialaw). Dancing in the morning at the shore of the Atlantic, watching the school of wrestlers practice in the evening, looking from our window contemplating middle passages. For me, it was luxuriously zen.

my fav hotel, so far, is riu palace riviera maya in mexico. we got a great deal when they first opened and now can never afford to go back.. lol thank goodness for discount opening deals!
